How did Yoko Ono react to John Lennon’s death after he was fatally shot by Mark David Chapman?

While my answer probably won’t be very popular I base it off of several interviews by people that were close to John and Yoko at that time.

Of course the initial reaction was shock and hysteria I’m sure and while I hate to say this Yoko often acts one way in public and another way in private. The thing that has always bothered me is the fact that the day after John was shot she moved her boyfriend Sam Havadtoy in with her and they stayed together for 20 years. That in itself doesn’t speak well about Yoko but there was something even more disrespectful. John had many things he didn’t like and things that bothered him and one was cremation and Yoko was well aware of this. John had openly said that he never wanted to be cremated and yet as soon as John’s body was released Yoko had him cremated and then sent one of the servants to pick up the ashes. To me this is not the act of a loving and caring wife but the act of someone who is extremely indifferent.

I will just say once again the way she acted in public is not the same way she acted in private. To be honest Yoko was really done with the marriage at the time he was shot but they had Double Fantasy to promote and she was going to milk his death for every penny she could, Even Sean has spoken about his mother’s behavior and stated that she was a cold and uncaring person.
